Mr. Kelvin Choo

AdvDip in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs)
Kelvin completed his studies with a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education -Teaching, and an Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs), under the National Institute of Early Childhood Development (NIEC). He is trained and certified in Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming Systems for Children (AEPS) which assesses and bridges children’s development goals. As an Early Interventionist, Kelvin received training in the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system and uses them to aid communication with and in children. Kelvin has also received training in DIR/Floortime® 101, which he uses to promote individual development through a respectful, playful, joyful, and engaging process.
Kelvin is experienced in teaching children with special needs between the ages of 3 to 7, especially those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech and Language Delay (SLD), Global Development Delay (GDD), and Williams Syndrome.
As an Early Intervention Teacher, Kelvin believes that every child is unique, and adapts his teaching strategies flexibly to suit the needs of each child. He looks forward to collaborating and communicating with the child’s parents, teachers, and therapists to support the child better.
