Jieru is a registered Occupational Therapist with the Allied Health Professions Council. She completed her Diploma in Occupational Therapy from Nanyang Polytechnic and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) from the University of South Australia.

Jieru works with children in the areas of gross motor skills, fine motor skills, cognitive skills, adaptive skills, sensory profile, and school readiness behaviours. Jieru had experience in community work, working at the Parks Children's Centre for Early Childhood Development and Parenting in Adelaide. She developed resources to support staff at the children's centre in facillitating fathers' involvement in children's development.

With her interest in child development and working with children with special needs, she has been working with children attending the Early Intervention Programme as well as engaging children in individual therapy sessions. She works closely with teachers and parents to support the children in coping with their everyday demands through the creative use of play and learning items.
