Gracie started her career as a special education teacher, she saw the value of Occupational Therapy in the development of children whom she was working with, and this led her to pursue studies in Bachelor in Science (Occupational Therapy) at the Singapore Institute of Technology- Trinity College of Dublin.
In her career as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, Gracie has worked with clients ranging from 2-16 years old with various developmental conditions and needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Intellectual disability, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, handwriting and social skills difficulties. Gracie has practised in various settings working with clients in the clinic, early intervention centre, preschools and local primary schools, to maximise independence and participation in the areas of self-care, play and learning.
Gracie adopts a client-centred approach and tailors her intervention to the child’s strengths and needs. She has conducted workshops to equip caregivers and educators with the necessary skills to support the child. Gracie recognizes the importance of the involvement of caregivers and seeks to work collaboratively with families.Â
