Ms. Heather Tan

Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Psychology) (Australian National University)
Master of Occupational Therapy Practice (LaTrobe University)
Allied Health Profession Council (SG) - Full Registration
Heather has over 8 years of experience working with children and adolescents with various developmental needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, Global Developmental Delay, Microcephaly, and Intellectual disability. She believes that behind every ‘difficult’ child is a child full of potential waiting to be unlocked and understood.
Heather has experience across a wide range of intervention areas, such as handwriting, fussy eating, sensory needs, behavioural difficulties, classroom readiness, regulation, communication through augmentative alternative communication (AAC), gross motor skills, dressing, toileting and more. She strongly believes that all children with developmental needs can benefit from looking at concerns from a sensory and neurodevelopmental lens.
Heather utilises a client-centred approach, varying interventions to meet the perfect intersection of a child’s motivation, working on goals that are difficult for them to achieve without causing them to get overwhelmed. She has also conducted training workshops for teachers and parents to help them understand their children and equip them with the necessary skills to continue helping their children.
Heather’s certifications include:
DIR Floortime 101
Social Thinking
Essentials of Sensory Integration (PECSI)
SSI: Motivational Interviewing
