Adapting Lessons & Classrooms for Non-Verbal Students

A hands-on session equipping teachers with practical strategies to include and engage non-verbal learners through communication tools, responsive teaching, and simple classroom adaptations for Winchester Infant Care and Preschool.

Time & Location

23 Aug 2025, 10:00 am – 11:30 am

Singapore, 99 Soo Chow Walk, Singapore 575385

About the Event

This interactive 1.5-hour session will equip teachers with practical strategies to support non-verbal learners in the classroom. Facilitated by Ms Sharon Lam (Psychologist), Ms Hernina Jalil (Speech & Language Therapist), and Ms Celeste Lee (Special Needs Therapist), the training combines developmental insights with hands-on techniques educators can apply immediately.

Teachers will learn to:

  • Understand the developmental reasons behind non-verbal communication, including autism, selective mutism, and speech delays.

  • Use visual supports, alternative communication tools, and responsive teaching methods to connect with students.

  • Adapt lessons, routines, and expectations so non-verbal learners can participate fully and feel included.

This is a closed event for Winchester Preschool and part of our ongoing preschool outreach and training series. If your school is interested in a customised workshop, please contact us to find out more.
